DeFaam | Group Project

A group project based on a shipwreck of the Fame.

Key Points:

  • Implemented Unreal Engine blueprints to create UI, saving, and general gameplay.

  • The project was set externally by the BU archaeology team who supplied 3D scans of objects.

  • Reduced supplied meshes to better fit a real-time context, including mesh reduction tools in Maya, and quad drawing for retopology.

  • Modelled extra clutter objects from scratch to fill out the gameplay area.

  • Experimented with simple cloth physics in Unreal Engine for boat sails, to give a more realistic image.
